For the last 20+ years, I’ve been sharing and practicing Compassionate (Nonviolent) Communication because I strongly believe communication is the key to healthier individuals, better relationships, and peaceful resolution of conflict.
I’ve offered—and will continue to offer—classes that help people learn and practice these communication skills that I find so life-changing, life-enriching, and necessary.
Recently I was very excited to learn of a nonprofit called Braver Angels that also teaches people how to listen and speak with the goal of resolving differences nonviolently. Braver Angels is particularly trying to address the Red/Blue divide in the U.S. and offers classes, workshops, a podcast, and other resources to help people communicate with less judgment to create better understanding.
I’m thrilled and encouraged to know there are so many individuals and organizations helping people develop wonderful skills to bring us together and address the divisive rhetoric that too often dominates public conversation.
As a recipient of our newsletter, I’m guessing you might share my same enthusiasm for skills to create better understanding. I thought you might be interested and excited to learn about Braver Angels too.
In the coming months, I hope we’ll continue to highlight individuals and organizations that we can celebrate as we work together toward a kinder, more peaceful world that honors everyone’s needs.
It’s so reassuring to know there’s hopeful work all around us.
